Nick Ragsdale

Hi. I'm a 23-year-old Mexican-American from Southern California– the city of Perris. I'm about 6' tall and weigh 185 pounds, with brown eyes and hair, which I prefer to keep bald. I keep myself physically fit, and I enjoy reading books of all sorts and writing letters. I've been in prison since the age of sixteen and have had a lot of time to mature. (My current release date is 11/13/05.) I'm looking for someone to correspond with – women especially - at least to help pass this time and – if all goes well – to make an honest friend or two. I'm a pretty nice guy and easy to along with.

I am a Latino man who is looking for a friend to correspond with who can brighten up my days and put a smile on my face with your letters, cards and pictures. I was born and raised along the coast in Salinas, California. I come from a big family and remain close and in contact with them all. I have good morals and ethics and a lot of respect and consideration for people. Since being in prison I have not wasted my time and have received a Paralegal Degree, Business Law and Environmental Law Major and am also a Small Business Management major. With this newly acquired knowledge and skills, when I do parole I plan on opening a Law Related Consultant Service.

I am an adventurous man, play chess, like sports, like to read good books. Living along the coast, I like surfing. Once a shark tried to take a bite and I punched him in the nose and it swam away. That was my lucky day (smile). I also can write on just about any subject. I'm a good people person. I'm loyal, vigorous, strong, compassionate, humorous and intelligent. Always in a happy mood. I also believe each friend represents a possible world, not born until they arrive and it is only through this meeting that a new world is born. If you decide to answer my ad, feel free to ask and say whatever you like. Till then if I caught your interest, please write to me. All humans welcome.

I'm an inmate here at Pelican Bay's SHU and understand at first hand the joy that receiving mail can bring. I also know the emotional roller coaster that takes place inside your body when they pass by your cell during mail call, day after day, without even slowing down. So I'm sitting in my cell eagerly awaiting your first letter.

I'm a 24-year-old Chicano from San Jose, California. I'd like to get to know people from all walks of life in an attempt to broaden my horizons men and women for friendship, though if you're open to more than friendship, please be female. I stand at a proud 5'10 and weigh in at 175 lbs. I have coffee brown eyes with a light brown complexion and big juicy lips.

My birthday is on October 8th and I'm a Libra. What's your sign? I'm a very friendly person with a good sense of humor and I'm not afraid to be myself in order to have a good time. I like all kinds of music: oldies; rap; R&B; hip hop; Old School; as well as High NRG. I work out, read books and draw in my spare time.

I parole in 2006, so I will be out shortly. If I've sparked your interest, please write to me. A picture would be nice and, if possible, a smile!

Willy Ramirez

My name is Willy Ramirez and I'm 25 years old, serving a sentence of 26 to life. I've been incarcerated since the age of 15 for a ‘mar 1" that I did not commit ( I would gladly explain this to you in a letter). My appeal is still pending. I want a female friend in my life to make life more tolerable. It's been a very lonely ride for me, and all that I want is the grace of a woman's friendship. I don't care about age, race, or religious views. I'm very open minded, but allow me to mention that I do appreciate a woman in her mature years. I'd like to share my thoughts and I'd like to read your's whether you're sad, happy, or you just need to share your troubles. I'm very understanding and slow to judge. Everybody needs somebody. I hope to hear from you!

Dewayne Randle

Although my appeal is before the 9th Circuit Court, I presently have a live sentence. I'm hoping to meet and make friends with all who are interested in real conversation. I enjoy reading law books and drawing anything that catches my eye. I was born and raised in Fresno, California. I have a 14-year-old daughter. I enjoy meeting people of all races who can share a part of there lives. I was married for 10 years, but am divorced. I haven't had a contact visit in over 7 years. I'm 37-year of age, and work out regularly to keep my head clean and to focus on something productive. I've been trying to find a college program for paralegal classes or some art classes, but without funds to pay for books or tuition, I'm just left with studying on my own. I just believe that this time should be used learning something productive that will help my appeal, or if and when I get out. Right now I could use a good friend to help me further my education as well as build a friendship because they last longer than other kinds of relationships. I really miss the beauty of the outside world and I hope and pray that God will give me a chance to see it again. But until that day I have to take this time to learn something that will enable me to be productive when I'm released. So I appreciate some friends that can understand my time of need. Thanks for just reading this.

Victor Rankine

Hello. My name is Victor Moboya Rankine, nick names ‘Colin.' I'm Jamaican by culture but raised in The Bronx, N.Y. I went to James Monroe High School. I'm from a very supportive and beautiful family. I've been incarcerated for 13 years and I have 22 months until release. I will be returning back to the N.Y. area, though I will be living in upstate New York, not in the city. I love to debate about national and international politics. I love to read non-fiction and fiction. I love to write letters because to express one's feelings and thoughts is very special. I love to play sports, basketball and soccer. I love music, from country to reggae. I'm a people person, I love everyone and I don't believe in the so-called human race, rather I believe in humanity and togetherness for all human beings. I am not taking out this ad to find romance. I want to find a good friend be it a man, woman, grandma, grandpa, just a friend. For the record, I will not ask you for any money. I'm well off in that department, so let it be known I will hold up my end when corresponding with you. Well, I hope, I've convinced someone to converse with me.

If you're hitting on this web site, you've found another inmate in need of company and though yes it may seem common given the predicament I'm in, you'll see a solid guy who'll give you lots of conversation that'll help us both grow to know each other. I'm funny, sincere and most of all will be very truthful with you in all things. I'll be glad to answer any questions you have.

I'm out of Fresno, California, and am Mexican American. My hobbies include drawing, reading and some studying. I am open to exchanging pictures, letters, maybe even in time, visits. I will answer all letters as soon as I receive them.

Javier Raygosa

I'm a 38 year old Mexican man with brown eyes and black hair. I'm 5' 6", 150 lbs., and have a light complexion. I have to admit, I look as if I'm 10 years younger. I'm physically fit, and enjoy working out 6 days a week. Maybe that's why I don't have any stress in my life. My hobbies include drawing, writing, and reading. I have been drawing for 15 years and I have become quite accomplished. Here I do ink drawing, but if given the opportunity, I would like to take up painting. At the moment, I am learning to write non-fiction, but in general, I just like to write. My favorite subject is world history and military history. I have read many books about various subjects and I read just about anything. I feel education is important. I am self educated and I'm enrolled in college working towards a degree. I'm just not content to sit around here and not do anything useful or constructive. I was born and raised in Venice, California, which is on the beach front in the west side of Los Angeles. I am a good, trustworthy, honest, and sincere person who doesn't play mind games. I hope to find a nice, bright, honest and goal oriented woman with a nice personality and sense of humour to have some stimulating conversation with. My goal is to find a good friend that is open minded, someone I could get to know to the fullest and share good times, life stories, hopes and dreams. If our friendship happens to grow beyond friends, I would welcome a more serious relationship. I will answer all letters , so don t be shy. Write, write, write!

I'm a 33-year-old Mexicano,. born on October 21st in the City of West Los Angeles. I'm 5'7” tall and weigh 180 lbs with light brown skin, black hair and a couple of tattoos. I'm serving a 12-year sentence in solitary ( indeterminte SHU sentence) for an armed robbery. I've been behind these walls since Nov of 1999 and in October 2010, I will end this prison journey. I have 3 beautiful daughters whom I love dearly. My oldest is 16 years old, second is 14 years old, and my baby is 12. They reside with their mother and we do stay in contact. Well, my hobbies are fishing and building things out of wood, such as birdhouses, tables and shelves. I'm an animal lover and I'm educating myself to obtain a job that deals with animals, in a zioo, for example, or as a Veterinarian's Assistant. If this doesn't work out for me you will find me in a ranch scooping up horse shit (just kidding). I speak both Spanish and English fluently and my family lines come from Guadalajara, Jalisco. I have one younger brother and 2 sisters and both my parents. They too live in West LA. Half of my family is Catholic and the other half are Jehovah Witnesses.

My favorite types of music are Rancheros, Corrodes, and Oldies, yes and RAP too; I'm from the 80's. Westside. I do a good job at singing Rancheras too. To keep myself busy I start my day early, exercise 6 days a week, and read all sorts of books. I study hard every day in math and history, and I watch a bit of TV just to keep up with the news around my hometown. At this moment, I do not correspond to any friends – only family members, but you know that having a new friend in one's life is like a kid with a new bag of candy, just can't get enough.

Well I will excuse myself for now, I hope this is enough info about myself to find a new friend, now it's all up to you to make the next move, you'll be glad you met me. Take care and stay safe.

I'm one of California's many Three Strikers. I've been incarcerated for ten and a half years. My third strike is for receiving Stolen Property (a car). I was born August sixth, 1962. I'm 42 years of age, .weigh 180 lbs, stand 5' 8-1/2” tall, and I have brown eyes. I'm from a beautiful little town called Bellflower, in the County of Los Angeles. I have one child, her name is Summer Pearl Riley. She's twelve years old. She is the love of my life. At that age she's not much into writing her dad. I hear from her about three times a year. I write her twice a month.

Since I've been in prison I've given my life to Jesus Christ. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life.

Louie Roa

I am 30 years of age and have been incarcerated since March of 1991 for an attempted murder. I am of Mexican descent, 5'10" in height, 175lbs. I have green eyes, light skin and short black hair. I have no facial hair as I can't grow any. I have no children and never have been married, but I love kids. I speak and write Spanish and English fluently. I've never done drugs, smoked or drunk alcohol but I enjoy eating and love candy. Some of my time I spend writing, drawing or reading. I have both my parents, one sister and seven brothers who are very caring and supportive of me. As a kid growing up I was an altar boy at my church but I was fired for being such a little menace. I believe in religion and respect everyone's point of view and beliefs. I might be describing myself as some kind of angel, but I'm not; this is just who I am on the inside because I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. Just because I'm in prison, it doesn't make me a bad, psychotic person. I'm in prison for a bad decision I made at a young age and I take full responsibility for all my bad choices. And even though life hasn't been easy behind these cold walls, I still manage to be very mellow and easy going. What I am looking for in a pen-pal is someone who's willing to give me a chance to know them, share their thoughts and friendship. Race, age, big or small is not a problem; for me friendship comes in every race. I am open to any type of amistad. Now it's up to whoever might be reading this to pick up that pen and paper. I'll be waiting.

I'm a 5'8” , 27-year-old Mexican-American who practices walking and sitting Zen meditation. I've been incarcerated nearly seven years – 5 1/2 of them in Pelican Bay's SHU - and will hopefully be let out sometime next year. Though I'm 27, I feel like I'm just beginning to live – even from in here – the place that has been my greatest teacher. After a while it becomes easy for family and friends not to write – and I have no expectations either. However, I realize that being dead and buried alive is not healthy! I have so very much to learn and also to offer. That's the beauty of living: to help others know themselves. I'm a bit nervous about reaching out but also looking forward to sharing my life. Continue to live in wisdom and peace.

I'm a Mexican who grew up on the streets of Los Angeles, California. I am currently serving time for a petty theft of 2 pairs of Levis and was incarcerated in 1994 under the then new 3-strikes law. I'm currently 35 years old and was only a 24 year old kid when incarcerated – never knowing in my wildest dreams I'd get 25 years for stealing two pairs of levis. But here I sit.

I'm an average man who considers himself a working stiff. I'm an artist and poet. The poetry isn't my greatest talent, but my artwork is fairly decent. Actually, I've gotten great comments on my work. But, I have only my art and poetry to keep me company these days. I love to listen to music, as I practice my art, from Classic Rock to Hip Hop. I'm into most music. Among others, I love R&B, oldies and old school music..

I wish I had someone to give me the benefit of the doubt so I could have some type of contact with the outside world. My only contact is with my kids. I have 3, but only 2 of them write to me. They are 16 and 17 years old.

I'm a very passionate man who allows his emotions to show in his art and poetry. It's my way of escaping these walls if only for a few hours a day. I also like to write what I feel in hopes the reader of my thoughts may get to feel what they read. In hopes of getting to know the man behind the pen.

I have no preferences in a pen pal, except that the person be open minded and have a sincere heart. I am searching for a kind soul interested in giving of their time and to become a friend and pen pal. I can be very good as a pen pal because I'd write you long detailed letters. I'd be happy to read whatever you want to share with me.

I'm an average man with average wants just like the next man. Only I can never express my wants and thoughts because I don't have anyone I can call a friend. I hope that will change with you.

I'm a 38-year-old Hispanic in need of a friend especially a woman who'd like to write and get to know me as a person. I was sentenced to five years and for two and a half years I've been doing this alone without letters or visits from family and friends.

I'm not a hardened criminal; I'm a man who's made a few mistakes in life and has learned from them. I would like to correspond with someone who could provide a little emotional support to lift my spirits and start the ball rolling towards getting back into society. I hope to hear from you in the near future. Thanks!

This is a first for me, so I am a little nervous. Having to write on the spot. It's intense, but it makes me more honest and real.

I'm just a regular guy., probably like someone you already know. I could be somebody in the gym or outdoors, in the office, or on the street, on the court, or sitting next to you in class. I'm a simple person. I don't take myself too seriously ‘cause I believe if you do, you're taking all the fun out of life. I say enjoy life, friends, your family. I'm getting preachy – sorry. But that's what I believe. I'm also a good listener and always willing to lend my ear and support.

I'm inspired by things that happen in life a lot of time, phrases in books, because I like to read whether it's a novel or suspense story. You can read a phrase that triggers a whole memory – sort of like a movie in your head. Drawing is one of my favorite things to do. I like studying foreign languages and the history of ancient and modern cultures. Every civilization has a rich history. Poetry, and art, breath the very spirit and simplicity of heart. Music is good for the soul and sports are entertaining and one of the best ways to unwind.. News and politics, world orientation, films, watching TV and keeping fit are just a few more of my interests and hobbies. I grew up in Orange County and in Los Angeles. I played sports and surfed a lot. I lived with my maternal grandparents for much of my childhood and teens. I remember the early days, memories strong enough to last a lifetime. I put my family first before everything else. Just kind of finds its place. It's always tough to talk about family because it's family. It affects me more than I can say, but in a good way that makes me smile, which partly explains my closeness.

You know, I've lived in the moment today and enjoyed each step and what it means while building – or hopefully moving toward – a friendship. A friendship we can equally enjoy being a part of. So, please keep this offer of friendship in mind. I think that friendship is a precious thing, even if it comes from an unexpected person.

Thank you for your time. But most of all for letting me speak my mind.

I was born in Mexico (Guadalajara Jalisco, to be exact). I came from low-income families back in Mexico. My little brother Cris and I both stayed back with our grandmother while both my parents came across the border illegally to work hard and give us decent lives. (unfortunately not so decent for me).

We always lived in the Los Angeles County Area, East L.A., West L.A., Compton and New South Central Walls.

I've always been a bad boy. The bad sheep in the family. Always getting into trouble: ditching school, ditching my communion classes (I'm Catholic). Getting into fights, grabbing girls imappropriately. I was just a problem child. Maybe its because of my separation from my parents when they left us back in Mexico? Whatever the reason may be, I was not very different from many of the guys who've ended up in here.

I'm a grown man now, wiser, and (somewhat) educated.

I grew up surrounded by violence so the only thing I've ever understood and learned was violence. My father was violent, just angry and violent. I guess because he must have been dealing with so much stress, he became an alcoholic and violent with my mother. I tried to fight him and defend her. I was only 8 or 9 at the time. Were were living in Compton. That was in 1985.

I'm a 34-year-old tattoo artist from Ventura in sunny, Southern California. I enjoy writing letters and poems, reading a good novel and am a sucker for ‘American Idol'. SSHH don't tell anyone! Also, I really love drawing, painting and tattooing.

I've been incarcerated sever years with about one to go. I realize to some the short time I have remaining may make some think twice about writing. The fact of the matter is I love writing no matter where I am and having a pen pal isn't just a prison thing. Having someone to write as I get closer to release and then while I'm making the transition to life ‘outside' would be a positive thing. Hopefully for you as weell. So if you can see past the ‘short time' thing and would enjoy corresponding and becoming frriends with a handsome (well, not ugly), smart (I have my G.E.D.), as well as funny (I do try), young- at-heart guy, then keep on reading.

Here are a couple things about myself. I have wide-ranging tastes. In music, for instance, I like a lot of stuff. My parents listened to country as I grew up so obviously I rebelled and took up heavy metal! Now I like just about everything as long as it's good. I like country, heavy metal, classic rock, blues, some soft rock/pop and R & B. Why like one thing when there's so much to choose from? That's how I think about most things now. Enjoy life and sample different things.

Last, but not least, let's discuss the type of person I'd like to correspond with. I'm not too picky as long as the person is a positive influence and a decent human being. It would be a plus if they really like to write and, like me, are open to new experiences. Other than that, I'd be happy to make a new friend.

So hey, pick up a pen and write me. Take care everyone.

I'm a single man of English and Mexican descent who, after 43 years, finds himself in search of something more than what I've had. After a run on the wild side, I'm now finding patience and making this time work to reassess my goals, with every hope of charting a course that better reflects the man I wish to be.

My desire is to better appreciate both the finer and simpler things of life while learning to understand the things I don't. This understanding begins with myself as I strive to express the more positive aspects of my being through my art and through sharing ideas and opinions through correspondence.

I am 35 years old, 5'11", 180lbs and Hispanic-Italian. I'm looking to find what I've lost throughout these years of incarceration; comfort, love, happiness and, most of all, laughter, in a female companion. My warmest wishes to those who chose to read this column. I'm incarcerated at the moment and have been housed in PBSP (SHU) for the past two years. I find myself seeking someone to share conversation, friendship, and if it reaches beyond that, then that's a blessing from above. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My hobbies, though I only have a few, include reading, all types of sports and, most of all, I enjoy studying geography and different cultures. My personality is humorous and I have a wonderful style that's all my own. I love to have conversations about life in general and to make someone smile, especially in this day and age in the world, war, etc. Everyone could use a good laugh and smile to get through a bad day. I do not look for drugs or alcohol to solve problems, I'm very fit minded and exercise routinely. I am here as a good listener with positive feedback; please feel free to ask me any questions and I will respod honestly. So if this description warms your heart, I would like to hear from you. I may be away for the moment, but I will not allow this place to keep me from meeting a new person such as yourself. Your words are politely welcomed.

Kenneth Samilton

I am a 48-year-old black prisoner in custody for a total of 10 years, presently under the strike law. I've been in Pelican Bay for about 7 years. I grew up in the Watts district of Los Angeles. After being involved in petty crime for years, going in and out of prison, I got a job working in construction as a scaffolder. After a few years of working in construction, I went back to doing petty crime. I was convicted for armed robbery and received a 40-year sentence, with 80% to be served. Even though I am going to be in prison the next twenty years, I am sure that I could reciprocate a good friendship. I like to watch sports, read a novel now and then, and listen to contemporary jazz. I am looking forward to corresponding with someone, especially with the thought of establishing a good friendship.

Jose Sanchez

I've been in Pelican Bay's SHU since 1999 – doing two life sentences - unjustly, I believe. I have no correspondents and no one in my life except my mother in San Diego.
A sentence of this length was something to face at the age of 21 (I'm 29 now). As bad as it feels, I keep myself busy and truly enjoy drawing. I'm really good at it too. I'll study anything I can, have a real good sense of humor and am easy to get along with. I like exercising too. I'm hoping to correspond with anybody – male or female – since the only thing I'm looking for is the lasting satisfaction of friendship.

I'm not looking for a love connection. Just for someone who is willing to write and keep me informed about the outside world. Someone who has a good sense of humor and enjoys education. I've been incarcerated since May 1992, and at 40 years of age, I've learned to educate myself. I enjoy reading, history, law, government, art and drawing. Although my resources are very limited, I do what I can. At the moment, I'm taking a basic Math course that this prison is offering. Things like this keep my mind busy and I'm beginning to really enjoy math, especially algebra. It is my sincere hope to be a ble to receive a pen pal. I thank you for this opportunity and look forward to hearing from someone.

My name is Ralph and I am currently serving out an 8 year sentence here. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I'm 55 years old and I like the game of chess. I am interested in having someone to write to and who would like to play some chess through the mail.

I'm a 25-year-old man, born May 24, 1980 in Orange County. I'm looking for a pen pal – just someone honest with a kind heart who loves to write.

At the moment, I'm studying Spanish but it's kind of difficult and I very much need help. My hobbies are drawing, exercising, writing, watching movies – anything that keep my mind away from where I am. I'm open-minded, honest and outgoing. I don't really know what else to say, but write me. Thanks.

I'm 34 years old, 6' tall, 180 lbs., and I'm from San Fernando Valley. I like to exercise six days a week to keep physically and mentally healthy. I enjoy all kinds of music, especially rock & roll. Currently I am earning a degree in psychology so when I get out I can hopefully become a youth counsellor. I'm trying to become the best man that I can be. I have a full upper body shirt of tattoos, so if you are interested in knowing the man behind the tattoos and these words, please write. It would be nice to have a female touch in my life as I am surrounded by 100% testosterone!

I am a 32-year-old Mexican interested in a pen pal who enjoys discussions pertaining to philosophy, history of all cultures and metaphysics and who also appreciates art and poetry. I am light skinned
with brown hair, green eyes, 5'11" in height, and my weight is 165 on a good day! I enjoy a good joke so a pen pal with a sense of humor would be a bonus. After all, someone under these circumstances could use a laugh - it's spiritually healthy. I'm not religious but I don't mind a good open minded discussion on the subject. I don't know if I'll be out, but I'm expected to in 2008 sometime. So far I've been in prison going on 14 years and I haven't had a pen pal for at least 9 of those years. Well, I don't want to reveal too much and I'll leave the rest to that curious mind who wishes to be surprised.

I I've been in solitary confinement for the past 21 years but, during this period, have written a number of theses on criminology from a black prisoner's perspective. In the early 1990's a number of these essays were combined into pamphlets that some law schools and criminology professors shared with their classes. In 1998, I started to combine my pamphlets in to a New Afrikan Criminology 101 textbook, which I am presently revising. Assistance and proofreading and printing would be deeply appreciated.

In addition, I am active with the Marcus Garvey Study Group (MGSG) which has four primary objectives: 1. To eradicate functional illiteracy among black prisoners; 2. To eradicate cultural ignorance among black prisoners; 3. To eradicate the criminal mentality among black prisoners and 4. To transfer the entire U.S. prison-industrial-slave-complex into the largest university in the country: George Jackson University (GJU).

If you are interested in any of the above, you can write to George Jackson University, Att: Dr. Donald R. Evans, Sr.; 1000 W. Century Blvd.; #254; Los Angeles, CA 90044

I'm a 33-year-old single white male high school grad with college credits. I am a father who holds strong political opinions and a strong belief in law. My interests are the environment, poetry and religions. I love the outdoors and prefer open spaces. I am segregated for my political beliefs, which include corruption charges upon C.D.C. employees in Federal courts. As such, I am alone. My 14-year, 4-month prison term ends 2/10/2008. Hi! I'm a 35-year-old man seeking to meet new people and make new friends from around the world, hoping to learn something from them and their culture. I believe in friendships that are sincere and honest. I enjoy sharing ideas and listening to other peoples' unique stories and experiences. I believe that each individual is unique, gifted and good, despite the ups and downs or even the mistakes we all make in life. I also believe that our mistakes, as well as those of others who around us, can be helpful to us if we learn from them as we strive on in life's journey. One important thing I've learned is to treat others as one wishes to be treated, along with being patient and working hard to be successful in what one really wants to achieve. I enjoy working out as being part of my physical and mental exercises. Other times I like studying, reading and drawing. Feel free to write if you wish to. I'm always looking forward to meeting new friends.

I am a 30-year-old Mexican who is looking for a friend to correspond with. I am serving a long prison sentence for murder – 25 to life – so I have a long time until I get out. Currently I'm in SHU (solitary) so I spend these days in a cell exercising, reading, writing and watching TV. I do have a G.E.D. and did attend college for Electrical Technology prior to my incarceration in 1993. D.O.B. 4-4-58, age 47, 6'. I have been incarcerated since Dec 18, 1981 for a murder/robbery I did not commit and I do not know who committed said crime. I am actually innocent and can prove factual innocence with a proper investigation team. I am self-educated in criminal corporate and civil law. I am a certified Para Legal. I want to open a Law Firm for helping the innocent (Paralegal/Investigations), and my case, with help, can prove factual innocence and I give half of my setttlement (for being locked up for nothing) to the people who help me. I want help to ascertain my freedom from anyone but would simply enjoy having a pen pal to dispute law, politics, history and talk about religious subjects. I speak Swahili, Arabic, Spanish and a little French ... and I've mastered Hatha Yoga (been doing it for 16 years). I am in SHU alone against the haters of one's that know ‘self' and how to say ‘no'.

Hello. I'm a 24-year-old Mexican with black hair and brown eyes – exactly 6' tall and weighing 200 pounds. I'm a lifer and I have a deep need for some interaction with a woman. It's gotten to the point that a female seems almost alien to me! I begin to forget how sweet and in touch with their feelings women can be. That's what I miss most. I'm passionate about many things and full of thoughts and opinions I'd like to share. So I'm hoping for someone with a good mind as well as a good heart. But it's heart that matters to me most.

I’m a 29-year-old Mexican man, born and raised in Delano, CA and currently doing a ten-year sentence on a weapons charge. But I only have 4 years left. I am currently and unfortunately imprisoned in Pelican Bay's S.H.U. I have been incarcerated since the age of 17 and am now 27. Yes, my life physically has been placed on pause, so to speak, but mentally I continue forward to educate myself. It is easy for a person to lose focus in such solitary conditions- so my attempt here is to find a friend so that we can learn from one another. For instance, I have always wondered about the origins of my last name Tachiquin. Well my dear friend, I will keep this short with hopes to find a friend. Please feel free to write.

I'm a 51-year-old white man and I've been alone and out-of-touch for more than 25 years. I haven't corresponded much with the outside world because I've lost most of my family since I've been in prison. I would like to change that.

I grew up in the Long Beach/San Pedro area of California. I worked for a ship supply company and as a commercial fisherman in my teens and early 20s. I love the ocean, nature, animals, and potato bugs and whoopee cushions.

I taught myself Spanish and like to read Spanish novels. I like to learn and like to try to understand why things are as they are because I am still interested in what's going on in the world.

I like rock and roll from the 60s and early 70s and country music. I am a good listener and I believe I am level headed.

I hope to hear from someone soon – perferably from a woman. At times it can take 3 to 4 weeks for mail to get passed out so you'll need to be a bit patient.

I’m 55 years old and lost my wife of 25 years in April, 2005. So I am feeling very alone in the world. I don not receive any mail here and all my family has ostracized me because I can’t seem to stabilize my life out there.
I am doing my 4th term in the California prison system. I’ve spent the last 13 months without any communication at all with the outside world. I really need a friend. This tem is tearing me apart inside. I received 4 years with 1⁄2 time eligible and parole this date next year. I’m accused of assault with a deadly weapon. It was a clear case of self defense but, because of my past record and the fact that no wit ness was willing to step forward and tell what really happened, I took the deal offered by the D.A.’s office. The worst part is that I have a second strike. I have to get my life in order and get off the streets.
I have several occupations. The last job I had was hauling produce from Washington State to southern California. My Class A license expired in 2001 and I haven’t been able to stabilize myself since in order to renew it. I also operate heavy equipment, doing land leveling, farming, etc. I was a carpenter for 10 years in my youth and am not physically able at this age to compete with the younger comer uppers. I have warehouse experience with shipping and receiving. I also have culinary skills that are exceptional. Anyway, I’m somewhat of an artist and have some sort of dream in the back of my mind to create designs for cards and then market a line all my own. I have no idea how to go about this organizing and marketing thing. But I am damn good at drawing!
I would prefer corresponding with a woman but, being the Christian I am, I’ll accept and be grateful to hear from anyone who has the time and heart to write to me. God bless.

I'm in search of a female pen pal to build a trustworthy friendship based on realness. I'm a good listener, great communicator, easy-going, humorous, big hearted, non-judgmental, not ugly or handsome more like fairly good-looking (smile). I don't consider myself perfect. I've made mistakes that I regret which put me behind bars today. I do not blame anyone but myself for my faults in life. The past is gone where it belongs. All I can do now is move ahead making matters better for myself next time out. I hope anyone you reading my ad give will give me the honor and opportunity to get to know you. Looks aren't important in my book, or race. It is what's in a heart that I value the most. I have many hobbies, I enjoy the outdoors. I'm a book worm and usually read three books in a month; history, health, law, science, psychology, politics, economy – anything I can learn something from interests me. I enjoy watching sports, both professional and college. I exercise regularly to stay physically/mentally fit. I do not smoke cigarettes. I am sef taught. I had no formal education, as school just did not interest me in the least. I come from a big family and I'm close with them. I'd like to hear from anyone interested in wanting to get to know me.
