Roman King Black Panther encaged Roman King #C83898 Charles Kingsley I am 26 years old and on an extended vacation here at the enchanting Pelican Bay Inn. I'm currently doing time for a robbery and drug related crime, I've earned myself a 12-year sentence. I'm no angel, but at the same time, I've done a lot of growing up in prison. Everyone makes mistakes and some people learn the hard way. I'm trying to take responsibility for my actions. I was born on August 4, 1978 and I'm French Canadian and Native American. I've spent most of my life in Northern California – mostly the Bay area and Redding – but I have lived all over California. I consider myself a born-again Christian. I enjoy positive and fruitful conversations. I spend a lot of my time reading and studying. I participate in a few self-help correspondence courses. I also love to draw. I'm one of the few that have a decent education and before I was locked up, I managed a pet store. My dad is a veterinarian and my mom owns a dog grooming shop. Bottom line is, I'm looking for new friends to write to. I hope to hear from someone soon – male or female. Who knows, maybe if you take a chance on writing to me, or someone
else in prison, you might be surprised that we all have a lot in common. Charles Kingsley #J89559 Ray Kizzee 08/31/09 Hector Komiyama I've been in the SHU for a bit over 12 years, and the only ones I keep in touch with are family. I'm a 33-year-old lifer standing 5' 9" with black hair and brown eyes. I'm an artist and lover of books. I like to read Robert Ludlum novels but my favorite book is “Rain of Gold” by Victor Villasenor. I also enjoy baseball, football and boxing. I like all sorts of music, and I love the song “Cross My Heart” by Billy Stewart. I'm a down-to-earth guy with goals, such as earning a college degree and helping youngsters learn that there is more to life than the hanging out on the streets and d oing drugs. I want to be a better man than I was yesterday! I value a true friendship as much as life itself! I'm good-hearted, sincere and know how to be myself - no pretending. I'm looking for a down-to-earth woman for a sincere and honest friendship. Hope to hear from you. Hector Komiyaya #H0176 Eddie Kumiyama My best greetings to all those taking the time to read this. I hope this finds you all in the best of spirits. Well, let me get to the point of introducing myself. My name is Eddie and I’m 24 years of age. I am from Southern California. But am currently in Pelican Bay serving a 19 year sentence, having done 8 years already., with all this time I have completed, I keep myself occupied by studying, (Spanish and trying to get my GED). I also enjoy reading pretty much about anything, and on occasion I watch TV. Well, i’m just looking for someone to share some conversation with. I’m not looking for drama. If you have any questions, fell free to ask. I am an open book. I appreciate the time you have taken to read this, and I hope to hear back from someone. With respect, Eddie Kumiyama #T20113 Pelican Bay State Prison C6-223 (SHU) PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Frank Lara Dear future friend, I sincerely wish you thanks for reading this letter. I hope I have found you feeling your absolute best. To begin this small insight into who I m , my name is Frank. I am 34 years old, six feet tall. I’m quite energetic and keep myself in splendid shape. I enjoy a lot of things in life, but try not to let things that are out of my control be a burden to me. Why stress over issues that are out of our grasp, yes? I attempted to visualize how I could pose myself that would seem different, more unique, for indeed introduction letters are quite bland and colorless, for letters in my view are something to be written with intimacy and feeling. But all I will do is be myself and hope my words are pleasing and interesting for you, and maybe bring you to smile. I only possess a select group of friends, for friendship to me is quite potent, and I adhere to friends selfishly. It would be such a pleasure to form a friendship with you… I’m very modest and uncomfortable describing my person to you, but to make a friend, one must seek a friend, yes? The characteristics I possess are significant for living life with honor, dignity and reverence. For those are my character and heart, and the standard by which I live by daily. In any event, I truly desire to make a new friend and I realize I wasn’t exactly eloquent in the proceeding words but I do wish to hear from you. Words can be eternal and so can friendship. Please, whatever you do, take a smile through life and enjoy it’s warmth. I hope for a reply. Frank Lara #J82687 Pelican Bay State Prison C6-205 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Khalif Lateef I am a 58-year-old African-American man who has been incarcerated for the past 27 years. In addition to having deep political convictions and a profound spiritual nature, I have also been active in the prison reform struggle the entire time I’ve been here. I am both college and street educated, and I expect to be released in august 2012. During the many years of my imprisonment I have lost my family and friends to death and/or to simply growing older and falling by the wayside as the years passed. Consequently I am now without meaningful outside contacts and am reaching out from behind these walls of brick and steel in an effort to meet new friends and hopefully establish some avenues of communication. If you too, seek a true, loyal, committed friend, then this is the ad to answer! Write me! Let’s kick it and get to know each other. Khalif Lateef #C52678 Pelican Bay State Prison A5-123 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Darnell Edwards Lemons Please let me introduce myself. My name is Darnell, I’m 41 years old, 214 lbs, 6” in height with an athletic build. Beyond these attributes I am interesting and well educated. There is a possibility of my release in the not too distant future. For the person I’m interested in meeting: someone who is intelligent, intriguing and funny. A person who is compassionate about life, with sincerity as their motivation for correspondence. I’m an individual who believes secrets destroy relationships. I consider those worthy of my friendship, deserving of all I have. So many things in this life are decided in a moment so I live my life for that moment. Some believe beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. To me, beauty “just is”. The most joyous thing in life is the birth of a child. My interests as well as hobbies encompass everything from athletics to computer programming. I enjoy reading, drawing and compassionate poetry. I love the sound of the ocean on the eve of a storm. I like individuals who are not afraid to be themselves, people who do not conform to the stereotypes created by those who are judgmental. I am wildly spirited with a playful personality. I enjoy engaging in meaningful conversations about any topic. I have particular fascination with this universe and my place within it. Stay compassionate as you are and don’t be afraid to be “you”. Darnell Edwards Lemons #E49397 Pelican Bay State Prison B1-112 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Henry Leon Miguel de Leon Luis H. Leija I am a 31-year old Mexican currently enrolled at the University of Pelican Bay. My passions are in the Arts and I enjoy drawing. I find it occupies my mind and is therapeutic (not that I need therapy). I speak English as well as Spanish, and am currently learning the Italian language (Sto imparando l'Italiano). I'm giving it about 5 years then depending on how much I've picked up, I'd like to move on to maybe French. I love the sound of a foreign language. I also dabble a little in law practice. I find that the law is very complicated and it stimulates the brain. It's almost like trying decipher Egyptian or Mayan hieroglyphics, well not quite, but you get the picture. As for home, well I'm pretty far away from there, which is in Cathedral City in the Palm Springs area. I've been away since 1995, so I guess it's not home anymore. I've learned that in my situation home is where you are at. Luis H. Leija #H27147 David Leyva I'm Mexican-American, born and raised out of East Los Angeles. I'm
a novice writer and would like to be in touch with others in the world.
Or really, anyone in the creative world. I'm currently doing as much
I have an interest in creating a magazine, a local magazine that reflects the interest of a particular place. I'm currently taking a few courses from the distance-learning department of a community college in Southern California to help further my education in my interest. David Leyva #E89461 Candido Loera Hi, my name is Candido. I’m 48 years old, Mexican, obviously a man, extremely light complexion, 5”10, 178 lbs, several tattoos. I’m a lifer on a permanent SHU term. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Lindsay California, a small place called Tonyville. I speak English and Spanish fluently, as well as the ancient language. I am a courteous, open minded and sociable person. I’m looking for a female companion, a friend I could speak with open mindedly to share thoughts, ideas or anything in general. I’m a good listener and love to learn basically anything. I’m willing to share as far as your heart desires. I’m easy going and as gentle as a teddy bear! Candido Loera #K30263 Pelican Bay State Prison (SHU) D2-210 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Robert Long How much insight and depth is required to ascertain that even the most treasured diamond was once nothing more than a lump of coal? Not much - it's just a fact! So what's that got to do with me? I'm not really sure since I'm not quite a lump of coal, and I'm not quite a precious stone. I'm working on it though! You probably don't want to hear about my accomplishments huh? Well my accomplishments may not be in the running for any Nobel Prize, but to my daughter I'm the undisputed Daddy Laureate! (She's probably biased in my favor.) Anyway & via pen, paper, and time, I intend to extend sincere friendship to anyone willing to break these spiritual walls of uncertainty to discover that support, grace, and compassion can indeed abide in all and are needed by all. Fostering is the key & I ask nothing that I wouldn't be willing to reciprocate. Let's talk. You'll probably like me & a lot!!! Robert Long #K71407 Gualberto Lopez Hello. I am 28 years old, born on July 12. My hometown is Los Angeles. I come from a beautiful Mexican family. I have brown eyes, weigh 160 lbs, stand at 5”7, have black hair with a baby face. I enjoy drawing, sports, reading cultural books, exercising and opening up my mind to life. I stay active all the time. I’m looking for a woman to correspond with, get to know each other, grow as people. Please feel free to write me. I appreciate the time you took to read this introduction of mine. Have a good day. Gualberto Lopez #T81282 Pelican Bay State Prison A4-222 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Hector Lopez With a pleasant smile and a warm embrace I sincerely extend this friendly “Hello”. I’m 24 years of age, originally from Los Angeles, California. An open minded, down to earth young man who truly values friendship and enjoys writing, drawing and smiling. Nice to meet you too! See, we’re no longer strangers. With a gentle blow of the wind, I’ll respectfully float on my silent whispers to you in hopes they’re worth of a reply. Time is there and so are you, don’t be a stranger (age, race, looks don’t matter to me). Feel free to ask any question. Hector Lopez #V00109 Pelican Bay State Prison C10-123 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95531 Luis Lopez 08/31/09 Mario C. Lopez I'm 29-year-old Mexican-Puerto Rican originally from the Hollywood area. I have been incarcerated for over 7 years now and have a lifetime to go. I'm going to be honest and say that I'm not looking for love. It's just that love can be unreachable when you're confined. I welcome all possible friendships and correspondence. I'm open to meeting women and men of all nationalities. All I ask is that you be at least 18 years of age. Basically, I'd like to be able to connect with others outside of this tomb. Mario C. Lopez #K64027 Paul Lopez I am a 37-year-old Latino, 5' 7", 180 lbs. I am somewhat shy to
say that I am physically and mentally strong. I am from San Jose California
and I'm just looking for a pen pal friend to correspond with to pass
this little time I have left. So maybe we can make our days more desirable
with smiles and maybe you can hopefully shine some of your rays on this
face. Paul Lopez #T52879 Tony Lopez I'm 38 years old, looking for adventurous, open-minded, free-spirited women for friendship and possibly more. Tony Lopez #E06271 Jonothan Lott Greetings. I'm a 28-year-old African-American male, light skinned with a bald head. I'm seeking a pen pal because I'm without assistance from anyone in the outside world. I'm also seeking legal aid. I'd be grateful for anyone's help and attention. Jonothan Lott #J61147 Aaron Louis Attention ladies are you looking for someone who will listen to your problems and could give you some positive feedback? Are you in search of a person that knows how to satisfy a woman’s needs mentally and physically. Then lady’s I could be Mr. Right… only time will tell… By the way ladies my name is Aaron Louis I’m 26 years old and I stand about 5’6’’ and weight 175 pounds, very physically fit. Things I enjoy are listening to slow jams, working out and I cook very well… I have a release date of 9/20/10… I’m hopping that’s not a problem? If there’s any questions you would like to ask me feel free to ask them. I keep it real at all times okay… Aaron Louis #V67872 Pelican Bay State Prison B7-531 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95531 B Louis What’s up everybody? My name’s Louis and I’m in Pelican Bay State Prison, please don’t hold that against me, thank you! I’m just writing to see if anyone out there would be interested in having a pen pal. It would be pretty cool if I could get a letter or two from somebody out there. I’m not asking for anything, just a good line of communications, that’s all. Someone who’ll give me an anchor by which to keep in contact with the outside world. So, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. I’m currently writing a book, hence the typed letter. Her Majesty, my mother, purchased a typewriter for me to do so with it. So I can afford things in this prison and so I can afford to get me back out some day. I’d tell you all about it but it’s not finished yet, or trademarked. Sorry! Like I was saying though, I’m 39 years of age, 5”10, have brown eyes and black hair. I like nothing but the best of things, ie: I’m picky, but not annoyingly so. Bad news though, I’ve got more time to serve than Mc Donalds has burgers to serve, not that I’ll have to serve it all, after all, money talks and I’ll eventually walk. Anyway, if you write back to me, I’ll write back to you and I’ll even tell you about the Almighty Pelican Bay State Prison. It’s not all that, it’s living on a reputation, no more. Okay now, let me change the subject. So, who did you kill last summer? No, no, no. Just kidding. Bad joke! Not that I’m here for such a crime. No, what got me here was the California Three Strikes Law. But back to the question. Who are you and what do you like? Do you go to school, college or what? Do you work and if you do, what is it that you do? Do you like your job? Is it fun? Ever take money out of the register? Kidding, kidding. Just another sick joke! Alright then, I’ll have to say bye for now. Take care. for pen pals, friends and yes, even to explore the possibilities of

do take this existence seriously, but I do have a good sense of humor.
I enjoy writing, reading world events, history, art, sports, and I even
do a little drawing from time to time. I'm a straight white man, 5'

for a woman who loves to laugh and is a free spirit, someone who is

to be released in 2010. I’d like to take this golden opportunity
to post a pen-pal ad and, through it, hopefully establish a friendship.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I will respond honestly and honorably. Jose Loza #PO63645 Geronimo Lozano Hi, I am writing this letter to introduce myself and to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Geronimo Che Lozano and I am currently serving time at the Security housing Unit at Pelican Bay. I am 35 years old, but I don’t look a day older than 25… provided you stand really far away when you do the lookin!! I was born on May 8, 1973. I am Mexican/American and speak both English and Spanish. I was born in a very small city in Los Angeles County. There, my mom brought me up by herself in a good home where I was the oldest of three children. Although I knew who my dad was, I can’t say that I remember having any real relationship with him. He was in and out of jail for most of my childhood. When I was twelve years old he died of an overdose. I was never the same after that. In my early teens I started acting up. I started hanging out with the wrong crowd, going to the wrong places and doing the wrong things. As time went by and I became more aware of the pain I was causing my mom, I started to realize what a rotten son I was being. And for a time, I tried to stay clear of things that would get me in trouble. About the time I turn fourteen, I started getting into trouble again. By this time I had been exposed to drugs and gangs. Initially I wanted nothing to do with either of them but my life wasn’t above reproach by any means. By the time I was fifteen I was getting high on marijuana regularly. Around the same time I started running the streets with a gang, and that became a fast trip down hill. My life eventually became a series of juvenile arrests and incarcerations. In 1994 at the age of twenty, I was arrested and charged with a long list of crimes including homicide. A year later I was tried, convicted and sentenced to twenty five years in state prison. Faced with spending the next twenty five years in here, I became very bitter. I chose to roll with the punches and use my incarceration to my advantage. Since I’ve been in here I’ve earned my GED, I am currently enrolled at Coastline Community College and am taking several courses at this time. My goal is to earn an AA degree in Liberal Arts/General Studies. My hobbies include collecting comic strips, playing chess, doing crossword puzzles, writing poetry and reading. Working out regularly is also an activity I like doing. I stay in close touch with my family. My mom communicates with me regularly through the mail, but I don’t get visits from her as often as I’d like. I have an aunt that lives nearby and she visits me a lot. If you would like to develop a friendship with me, please write me a tell me a little about yourself. I would like to correspond with people from all walks of life, and perhaps from other parts of the world. I will exchange letters from anyone who takes the time to write me. Looking forward to hearing from you. Peace. Geronimo Lozano Pelican Bay State Prison C8-124 (SHU) PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Robert Luca I am always looking for ways to better myself as a person. I enjoy drawing, reading and learning new things. It would be nice to meet someone new, share thoughts and trade jokes. I am down to earth and not bashful. Life is too brief to not experience everything you can. To make a very long story short, I was convicted on a gang-related crime in Los Angeles when I was 16, and have been in Pelican Bay since 1994. I am now 32 years old. I'm trying to get a website started that will attract young people - kids from my culture - so they can read my story and not make the same mistakes I have in my life. I would love to hear from you. Wishing you the best Robert Luca #H-12604 Edmond Luera I'm interested in meeting someone new and becoming friends. I'm a 30-year-old Mexican-Native American., 5' 10", 180 lbs. , with brown eyes and hair. I have a great capacity for conversation along with a good sense of humor. Edmond Luera #H67614 Ralph Lugo I would really like to meet someone from another environment or culture or anyone who would like to share some simple conversation. I'm a 45-year-old, single Mexican. I'm 5'7”, 169 lbs, with a medium build, brown hair, brown eyes and medium complexion. I was born in Waco, Texas, but grew up in San Jose, CA. I'm honest, open-minded, and love all types of people who read the Word of God. I enjoy outdoor sports - fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, baseball and walks. I'm a non-smoker and work out daily to stay in shape. I'm not a picky person, just a guy who would like some company to be able to share thoughts and feelings. Ralph Lugo #K72624 Frankie Lujan I am a 31-year-old Chicano, currently serving a life sentence in solitary (known as SHU). I wasn't always a knucklehead. I grew up a pretty normal kid, with two wonderful sisters, in a loving two-parent house. I was born and raised in the City of Redondo Beach, a beach community in Los Angeles. I was a fairly average student in school. Growing up, I'd show glimmers of above-average intelligence here and there, but nothing spectacular. I'm probably putting too much salsa on the taco by even saying that. I played baseball since the age of five and love baseball to this day. I tended to be mischievous but no more than any other kid. My parents were also raised in Redondo Beach. They grew up in the 60's and my father is a product of the achievements won in the Civil rights movement. He attended college, including UCLA, and received scholarships that were being given out at the time to young, bright chicanos. My father, as well as myself, are from Barrio Rodondo 13. Yes even beach communities have gangs. My dad was smart enough to avoid all the traps that would snare me years later. When my teenage years rolled around I started hanging out with the ‘Fellas'. My dad did everything in his power to prevent me from walking down this path. Ass whooping, restrictions, everything, but I was determined to live my life the way I wanted to. When I was 17 years old, I was arrested for a gang-related shooting and sent to the California Youth Authority. When I paroled in 1992, I was already stuck in my ignorant ways and continued to live the life of a gang banger. I was back in jail 2 months after I paroled. Since the time I was 17 years old, I think I've been on the streets a total of 16 months. On this current case, I've been in jail since December 1, 1997 – 7-1/2 years,. I have a 13-year-old son who is my pride and joy. It's not easy keeping relations together from this place, but I try my best. His mother, who is a great, strong, brave, beautiful woman, has moved on with her life, which I totally understand. I've omitted big chunks of my story, just to make it simpler to fit
this into one ad. But feel free to ask me whatever you'd like. Also
tell me about yourself, your interests, who you are. One of my passions
is politics. I'm a die-hard 'Left Winger! I'm definitely ‘Anti
George Bush”, so if you're a Bush supporter, I look forward to
the debate. Sports are another of my interests. I also like to draw,
and read, read, read. Frankie Lujan #T20450 Arturo Luna I'm in my early 40's and have a parole date of late 2007. I'm a Mexican inmate with brown eyes and hair, and I'm affectionate, understanding, open minded, humorous, and easy to get along with. I'm seeking a long term friendship - age or race is unimportant, but being a Christian is a plus. Take a chance on me. Arturo Luna #P15021 Rick Madsen I am a Christian and my interests include Civil/Criminal Law (I am studying/learning), the Internet (Web Pages, Sites, how it all works - I would like to learn to set one up); and art (drawing in ink and pen). I would be very interested and grateful to correspond with like-minded individuals to further my knowledge in any of these interests, or simply to correspond with on a friendly basis. Rick Madsen #E10400 Jake Main I am 26 years old from Calaveras County in northern California. I'm white and of Scottish and Irish decent, and of course I take an interest in my heritage. I am 5' 7", weigh 180 lbs., and have green eyes. I enjoy exercising and staying healthy, both physically and mentally. I am pretty much covered in tattoos and I am a tattoo artist, so I like to draw. I like to read anything and everything. I am fascinated by the world and the never ending knowledge that is contained in it. I have been incarcerated since April of 1995. I was 16 years old when I stepped into doing time. I have spent a good portion of my life caged up, and I am looking forward to my release in 16 months. I would like to correspond with females just to help pass the time. Jake Main #K83227 Carlos Maldonado I'm 30 years old, incarcerated now but expecting parole in 3 years. I'm from Central California and enjoy writing, meeting new people, and making new friends. I have a nice personality and a good sense of humor. I'm a life-long student of history and religion. I especially enjoy studying European history and religious history. I think education, exercise, and self-enrichment are important to a fulfilling life. I'm interested in sharing friendly conversation and good humor with anyone who has the time and desire to make a new friend. I'll welcome and respond to everyone who writes and hope to make this a very positive experience for both of us. I'm also willing to exchange photos. Carlos Maldonado #J87925 Robert Maldonado 10/21/09 Edgar Robert Marenco Hello, I need you, yes you! I'm looking for friends who will want to listen to my philosophy and psychology. I have been locked in a corner of my universe for a quarter of a century in California and all I have done is educate myself in many different subjects and develop a lust for life, full of Empathy, Respect and Integrity based on the core of my essence: truthfulness and honesty. I enjoy studying, leisure reading and music. I have a great love for things that fly, from a small ladybug to the great commercial jet planes, and I also love children and would enjoy being a motivational speaker to all the little people some day. I am a man - neither more nor less – and I have great tales to spin and stories to share on all that I have in my heart and through my Spirit. I am very down to the Mother Earth and I will wait for you to bless me with your friendship. Edgar Robert Marenco C43611 Aaron Marcus Robert Marin Richard Marquez Jr. As I begin this letter I hope you are surrounded by the love of our good Lord. It is also my hope that once you read these few words that I've put together, that you might take a moment to write. My name is Richard Marquez and I am an identical twin. My twin brother's name is Nick Marquez #V-25975. He is my cellie here at Pelican Bay Prison, we're both 30 years old (Nov). Growing up I made some very poor decisions. I came from a rough part of Southern California and like many young people, I was easily moved by the thought of fast money and was fooled into thinking my friends meant more to me than family. I know now I was wrong. I'm not saying friendships are wrong, on the contrary I value a true friendship. My life has had its share of both good times and bad times. My little brother Sean was killed in 1992 and my parents passed away in June of 2003. Those moments have pulled at my heart, but I'm grateful for the time we had together. From their loss, I've also learned to enjoy today. Dr. M. L. King Jr. said, the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands on moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. So I let those words remind me to make the best of this situation. May God bless you. Richard Marquez Jr. #H94929 Angel Martinez Hello, my first name is Johnny, but everyone knows me as ‘Angel', which is my middle name. Johnny and Angel. I'm one and the same. My last name is Martinez, which is of Mexican descent. I was born in southern California where much of my life was spent. My childhood was wonderful in a house with father, mother, two older sisters and a younger brother. Somewhere along the line, I went down the wrong road and I've been incarcerated since I was seventeen years old. Yet I've evolved tremendously these past years, and am seeking a friend to share my joys, triumphs, and yes even my tears. I enjoy listening, exchanging experiences, ideas, and alternative points of view. I'd like to know your take on life and favorite things to do. So go on and go out on a limb, grab yourself a pen, tell me about yourself and how you've been. Life can be bitter, but also so very sweet. If you thing along these lines, your definitely the type of person I'm hoping to meet. My intro is corny, I tried to make it rhyme like a poem. Hopefully I caught your eye as you surf the net at Home. Angel Martinez #H93376 Edwin Martinez I'm 27 years old and, although living in solitary in Pelican Bay's SHU, I have not let that stop me from being an optimistic, outgoing, energetic man. I always manage to smile and bring laughter to my own day as well as to others'. I have a passion for drawing and would like to paint as well – one day soon I hope. David Matus Hello there. My name is David, born and raised in California’s bay area. My nationality is Nicaraguan I’m 26 years old and after 10 years I will soon be completing my sentence and entering a 4-year B.A. program starting 2009 with eventual goal of acquiring a masters. I’m bilingual with strong interest in other cultures. I’m looking to stay busy and make contacts for meaningful correspondence and entertainment. I have a short span left and would like to use it to communicate and reconnect with society through positive mature correspondence. Both keeping my mind stimulated and my time just a little more comfortable through any encouraging support and friendships obtained. I have interest in Latin American history and traveling through the region in my 30’s. As past times here I’ve read, wrote, drawn, completed a G.E.D. and an A.A. degree. I’ve even studied and learned a pre-Colombian language. I’m open to other people’s point of view and customs and will look forward to any writing or contact you wish to send my way. Thank you for your time. David Matus #P48461 Pelican Bay State Prison D6-214 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Russell McAllister I am 23 years old and am doing a large sum of time. As I do my time, I serve it in solitary confinement and have no friends or family who write to me. I really don't know what to say, so I'm going to be honest and hope that the following will be of interest to you. I want you to know that I am an open-minded person who welcomes anyone to write. I am seeking someone who I can share my thoughts and ideas with. I am looking to make friends to correspond with. Though a person who has a lot to say, I am also a good listener and would like to hear what you have to say. This is not just about me. I am love to learn new things. I am interested in art, music and many
other educational things and I love to draw and paint. I am a very open-minded
person who has lived and spent time in Southern California and the Southern
United States. I like all sorts of music, from classical to country
to heavy metal. I love animals too. I like a lot of things about the
European, Asian and Latino cultures. So if any of this is of interest
to you, please do write. I will write back anyone who takes the time
to write me. Don't think twice, just pick up that pen! Russell McAllister #T06476 Jason McCliman Hi. I'm a 27-year-old man Mexican/German mix: 5'6 tall, 160 pounds, brown hair and green eyes. I've been in Pelican Bay since September, 2001 and expect to go home in August, 2007. While I'm here I enjoy reading, writing and basketball. But the time would sure pass easier if I had a friend to correspond with. I hope you'll take a chance. Jason McCliman #J67424 Robert McDaniels Hi. I'm a 30-year-old African-American man with short wavy hair and brown eyes. I have no friends or correspondents and no one visits me. I'd sure like to meet some new people and hopefully, through writing, create some new friendships. That's what matters to me most, although if anyone knows of a lawyer who could assist me with a writ, that would be much appreciated. Robert McDanniels #K80690 G. McKenzie I'm a young man who's come to understand a lot from my past years of experience but I can never come to terms with the fact that such a powerful modern country has a judicial system that doesn't't treat poor people fairly. In a California Department of Corrections facility there is no such thing as rehabilitation beyond self-reliance and whatever structure a person provides for himself. I'd enjoy receiving correspondence from someone outside these walls – a voice that isn't't just an echo of my own. G. McKenzie #K78662 Noah Medina Hello. My name is Noah and I'm a 29-year-old, fun-loving guy with a great personality and a good sense of humor a poet and an artist too. I'm looking for life-long friendships. There's no one in my life family or friends. In 3 years I'm gong to parole and, before I do, I'd love to meet some new people no particular requirements. It's been so long since I've had a pen pal or any mail whatsoever. All letters will be happily answered. Noah Medina #J25737 Robin “Smokey” Melchor To all the lovely ladies across the globe, this is it, there's no need to look anymore! I'm a 21-year-young Latino pup, looking for a good time through pen and paper. I'm color blind when it comes to females, and of course, I don't trip if you're 18 or 50 years old. It's all good, all letters are welcome. If you send a picture, that would be great too. I have dark brown eyes and a shiny bald head. I'm not a muscle machine, but I keep myself in good health. I read, write, work out, and make rap lyrics. I'm from Guatemala, so for sure I speak Spanish. So para todas las muchachas que gusten conocer a su papi chulo, escribanme y les correspondere lo mas pronto posible. I reside in East Los Angeles, CA. For the time being, they've got me doing some hard time, but as time goes by, all my hopes are up and I'll be out again. So to all the females that wish to write, here's my hook up. Robin Melchor #T73040 Raymond Mendoza Attention! My name is Raymond, I'm a 35 year old Hispanic of Mexican
descent seeking pen pals from all walks of life. I bear no prejudices.
I'm looking for someone I can establish an honest, sincere friendship
Raymond Mendoza #E07922 Sal Mendoza Hello there, I would like to take a moment of your quality time, to insure you of a one of a kind person who enjoys life and what inspires, motivates himself to help others. I know we are not born perfect, every day we develop in our personality. This is shown by the purity of our taste, the cleanliness of our thought and the maturity of our judgment. Myself, I let friendly intercourse be a school of knowledge, and let culture be taught through conversation. I see we are always attracted to others by our own interest, but in this case it is of a higher kind. I hope to draw attention to you because I have a lot to offer. Take care. Sal Mendoza Pelican Bay State Prison D5-222 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Juan A. Merced, Jr. Nothing in life worth having comes without risk and it's with this understanding that, at the age of 39, I find myself wanting a compassionate woman in my life. I would like to be more open in this brief introduction, but time and experience have seized my faith in people so that that I would need to know you before I can be as open as I'd like to be. My time is prison is spent reading anything and everything I can get my hands on. For me, reading is my way of escaping the walls of my confinement because the reality of the world I live in is anything but caring or understanding. I have not and will not give up my struggle to leave this place one day, but there is the possibility that I never will. I would like to meet a woman who is able to be herself and who isn't afraid to take a chance on a man whose heart has been hardened by a harsh life and whose soul has been lost in this state of unending isolation. Permit me to enter your life and I will give you friendship filled with purpose and loyalty. I will hang on your every word as if doing so would save my life and I will make every effort to put your wants and needs before my own. Most importantly, I will appreciate you, for there is nothing better under the sun than the spirit of a woman. Juan A. Merced, Jr. # D48678 Michael Wes Meredith I am a African American, 45 year old man, doing time for bank robbery. My parole date is inside the next 3 years. I am seeking correspondence with an intelligent and open minded woman. Size, race, height or religion does not matter. I hope to find some compatibilities. I have thoughts and ideas on theology sociology, philosophy and common spiritual interests. I do not have any particular religious denomination, but I am a spiritual person, who believes in a creator. I am 6ft, weigh 190 lbs, hair long and black, brown eyes and a cinnamon complexion. Michael Wes Meredith #D84587 Pelican Bay State Prison B7-230 PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95532 Anthony Miller I am an African American, with brown sugar skin, 188 lbs., and dreadlocks.
I am into football, antiques, and comic book collecting. Lately, I've
been interested in politics, the language used in politics, and new
laws. I would like to learn more about the internet. I have been learning
Spanish on my own, and would like to have a woman write who is interested
in teaching me. Actually, whoever writes doesn't matter because I am
eager to learn! Also, I would like to correspond with a strong willed,
revolutionary type female who doesn't mind standing up for what she
believes in. Someone who would understand the straight forward nature
of my poetry. Most importantly, I believe in God, and all Anthony Miller #D80433 Don Miller Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Don Miller. I am currently locked up in Pelican Bay SHU program. I am doing an intermediate SHU term due to the label of gang association or prison gang membership. So based upon the prison administration I am confined to a cell for a total of 23 hours a day. I have great hopes of opening up some sort of correspondence with someone that is willing to be a positive factor in my life. For as you are aware life in this type of confinement tends to disrupt any normal relationships. Due to the isolation factor and distance or location of this said prison. My ties with society have been separated to a great extent.. I do my best to remain positive and to also be as productive with my time as possible by educating myself and strengthening myself through a regiment of exercises. I am 34 years of age and I still have 10 years left on my sentence till I have parole. I have been incarcerated since 1999. So life has passed me by somewhat. However I stay positive that there is someone out there that is able to understand that everyone makes mistakes. I have made changes and I intend to continue to do so. If someone is willing to be a good friend in some way, I look forward to all mail! Don Miller #J02674 Pelican Bay State Prison D6-223 (SHU) PO Box 7500 Crescent City CA 95531
